Patrol Deputy Positions
Patrol deputy applicants who are
POST certified and have two years of field experience as a certified
Peace Officer may apply as a lateral transfer.
| Minimum Education: |
Associates degree in Police Science or basic training
certificate from Police Academy. |
| Starting Wage: |
$14.82 per hour |
| Duties: |
Performs professional law enforcement duties related to
coordinating and directing functions of the Sheriff's
Office. As a law enforcement officer, the fundamental duty
is to serve the community, to safeguard lives and property
and to respect the Constitutional rights of all.

| Standards: |
Must be able to communicate and work effectively with
elected officials, other employees, judges, prosecuting and
defense attorneys, various law enforcement and emergency
response agencies and the general public. Must be able to
maintain composure and professionalism in tense and
potentially dangerous situations and insure the safety of
fellow officers, suspects and bystanders. |
