| Minimum Education: |
High school diploma or equivalent with ability to complete
POST academy within one year of date of hire. |
| Starting Wage: |
$13.23 per hour |
| Duties: |
Responsible for the care, custody and control of inmates
housed in the Boundary County Jail. Supervises inmates both
within the facility and on work details outside the facility
as required. Conducts security checks of inmates and
facility as required by the Boundary County Jail Policy
Manual. Dispenses medications as directed by the jail
physician. Maintains control of inmate property. Conducts
in-processing and out-processing of inmates, maintaining
paperwork generated by these processes and the court system. |
| Standards: |
High degree of performance required while working under
acute stress and intermittently heavy workloads. Must be
able to work professionally and effectively with other
employees, inmates, inmate relatives and the general public.
Must be able to anticipate problems and manipulate inmate
behavior to defuse hostility and suicide attempts. |
