Boundary County Planning and Zoning Commission
MINUTES, January 20, 2011
Members present: Matt Cossalman, Rod Barcklay, Steve Shelman, Marciavee Cossette, Bruce Behrman. Members absent: Paul Shelton (called), Dan Studer. Staff present: Mike Weland.
Cossette, whose term expires Jan. 31, stated she would like to continue to serve and be appointed to her first full term as a member.
1. Barcklay called the meeting to order at 5:40 p.m., bid farewell to members on his final meeting as a member and chair, and called for reading of the October, 2010, minutes. Shelman moved to waive reading and approve as presented, Behrman seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
2. Barcklay called for election of officers and opened nominations for chairman. Cossalman nominated Studer and Shelman seconded. With no other nominations, Barcklay called for a vote and the nomination carried unanimously. Barcklay called for nominations for co-chair. Shelman nominated Cossalman and Behrman seconded. There being no other nominations, Barcklay called for vote and the nomination carried unanimously.
3. Discussion was held on progress of the zone ordinance and staff said a new draft had been completed and was under review by counsel. He said that it was anticipated that they would finish their review soon, possibly by this weekend, and then the draft would be forwarded to county commissioners for their initial review, after which copies would be sent to P&Z members for their review, possibly in mid- to late-February. After a meeting to discuss any issues following review by P&Z members, Weland said, the document would be made available for public review and public hearing set, possibly during the April 21 meeting.
4. There being no further business, Behrman made motion to adjourn, Shelman seconded and the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 5:55 p.m.
