Boundary County Planning & Zoning Commission

June 17, 2004

 

Members present: Jim Paulus, Mary Ann Luedtke, Tom Hollingsworth, Jane Kirby, Rod Barcklay, Doug Reoch. Members absent: Toby Schnuerle, John Kellogg, Barry Davis. Staff present, Mike Weland

 

1. Paulus called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and called for reading of the May minutes. Luedtke moved to waive reading and accept the minutes as mailed. Reoch seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

 

2. Paulus opened hearing on SUP 04-01. Staff stated that notification letters to surrounding property owners had not been sent. The hearing was tabled until the July meeting.

 

3. On unscheduled business, discussion was held on changing locations of meetings to the Boundary County main courtroom. It was agreed that subsequent meetings would be held in the main courtroom.

 

4. Kirby stated she felt that the name “zoning certificate” should be changed to “location permit,” saying that the name would better reflect the true purpose of the document. She also stated she felt the term “home based business” should be removed from the ordinance. After discussion, Luedtke made motion to have staff draft a proposed ordinance amendment reflecting the change in title from zoning certificate to zoning permit, Kirby seconded and the motion carried unanimously. It was determined that additional discussion needed to be held on home based business.

 

5. There being no further business, Kirby made motion to adjourn. Barcklay seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 6 p.m.
