July 1, 2009

I.            Announcements: Tony Rohrwasser brought the meeting to order at 0800.

 

Dave Kramer:   Introduced LTC David M. Coppom from the Coeur d’ Alene Civil Air Patrol. LTC Coppom gave a brief overview of services the Civil Air Patrol provides and what they can do to help in emergency situations.  For more information on the Civil Air Patrol, please contact LTC Coppom at Dcoppom@alol.com. Dave Kramer:  The Boundary County Emergency operation Plan has been approved by the County and State, as well as the City of Bonners Ferry and the City of Moyie Springs.  It is available on the County’s website and a copy is also at the library for the public.

Bonner County is hosting ICS 300 class on August 1st and 2nd, prior to taking the 300 class ICS 100, 200, and 700 must be completed first this may be done on-line.

The rail-car class that was scheduled for June 20th was cancelled do to unforeseen complications and will be re-scheduled for October.

 

Tish Lagerwey: The Hazmat table-top exercise that was held at Eastport was very successful.  Tish also gave out a list of the most common chemicals that are transported across the border.

 

Sue Welch:  An after action report will be done concerning the table-top, this should be completed in September. It will also have an attached Improvement plan.

 

Bob Graham:  The 2007 grant money needs to be closed out by October 1, 2009. 2008 money is $24,000.00, 25% of this money is for Planning. 25% is for Law Enforcement.

Incident Commanders for carbon monoxide and minor gas leaks will now be the responsibility of the Fire Departments.

 

Barry Coleman LDS Church: The ward had a Youth Conference in June and was able to apply the use of their radio system. Overall they did very well based on the amount of training they had.

 

Tony RohrwasserAttended the Creston Emergency Management meeting.

Sagle Fire Department held a full scale Wildland Fire Drill. Tony, Sue Welch and Jay Baker attended. Tony would like to put something similar together for our area.

Tina Wilson: Attended the Adanced PIO class. Tina was very impressed with the class and urges everyone to attend if they can.

 

Cynthia McFadden: U.S. Forest Service, it is a very dry, early, fire season.

 

Darrell Kirking, Panhandle Health: Gave th swine Flu update, hopes are that the fall strain will not be any worse than the seasonal flu.

 

August LEPC: Bob Kesson has contrated with the County to do more of the Resource Typing, he will meet with Barry Coleman and others to get this finished by the October 1st deadline.
