Bonners Ferry,Moyie Springs, Naples, Eastport, Porthill Waterways committee seeks public inputThe Boundary County Waterways Committee is seeking public input for a Phase II grant for the Rock Point Storage Building for construction upgrades to comply with grant requirments. The public is invited to meet with the Commission at 6 p.m. Thursday, January 26, at the Boundary County Waterways Building, 6821 Riverside Street. County Commissioners invoke federal law to take part in caribou designationAfter weeks of study and consultation, Boundary County Commissioners today invoked federal law to be included as participants in the process currently underway to designate over 600-square-miles of North Idaho and eastern Washington as critical caribou habitat, not by demanding, but by agreeing that they will coordinate with all federal and state agencies on matters affecting the citizens of Boundary County so as to protect the public interest. An extension of the comment period and a series of meetings, including public hearings, are being planned.
